Everyday Mathematics is a comprehensive Pre-K through Grade 6 mathematics program engineered for the Common Core State Standards. Developed by The University of Chicago, School Mathematics Project, the Everyday Mathematics spiral curriculum continually reinforce abstract math concepts through concrete real-world applications. This program is only used with our kindergarten students.

McGraw-Hill My Math was created by the PreK-5 authorship team using Understanding by Design and instructional design approach to learning that identifies objective.  this framework is the perfect foundation for the Common Core State Standards, resulting in a curriculum that provides conceptual understanding, key area of focus and connection to prior concepts and skills.

 


INTERVENTION

LEVELED LITERACY INTERVENTION (LLI)
http://www.fountasandpinnell.com/lli/   The Fountas & Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention System(LLI) is an intensive, small group, supplementary literacy intervention for students who find reading and writing difficult. The goal of LLI is to lift the literacy achievement of students who are not achieving grade-level expectations in reading. Students work with a specially trained teacher in a small group daily for 30 minutes. 

READING RECOVERY

A thoroughly researched and proven early literacy intervention for the lowest-achieving first graders.  Individual students work one-to-one with a specially trained teacher for only 20 weeks and receive daily 30-minute lessons. 

STEPPING STONES TO LITERACY

Geared toward kindergarten and first grade students working towards mastery of skills that contribute to phonemic awareness—listening, letter naming, phonological awareness, and serial processing. NUMBER SENSE INTERVENTION

An explicit, evidence-based intervention for kindergartner and beginning first grade students at risk for math difficulties. Concentration on boosting key math skills such as oral counting, number recognition, and numeral writing. Consists of 24 scripted lessons, geared for helping small groups of struggling students in just 30 minutes each day.

WILSON READING

As a structured literacy program based on phonological-coding research and Orton-Gillingham principles, WRS directly and systematically teaches the structure of the English language.  WRS is an intensive Tier 3 program for students in grades 2-12 and adults with word-level deficits who are not making sufficient progress through their current intervention; have been unable to learn with other teaching strategies and require multisensory language instruction; or who require more intensive structured literacy instruction due to a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia.  Through the program, students learn fluent decoding and encoding skills to the level of mastery.  From the beginning steps of the program, students receive instruction in:
  • Phonemic awareness
  • Decoding and word study
  • Sight word recognition
  • Spelling 
  • Fluency
  • Vocabulary
  • Oral expressive language development

NUMBER WORLDS

Number Worlds is a highly-engaging, research-proven, teacher-led math intervention program that was built on rigorous state standards to bring math-challenged PreK-8 students up to grade level with Real World Applications.  Number Worlds helps struggling learners in Response to Intervention Tiers 2 and 3 achieve math success and quickly brings them up to grade level by intensively targeting the most important standards.
