Counseling

The counseling program at the Greencastle-Antrim Primary School includes individual counseling with students, parent and teacher consultations and student appraisals.

Individual Counseling

The Primary School counselor provides individual sessions to assist with educational and personal concerns. These sessions help students explore their concerns, make appropriate plans of action and be successful in following these plans.

Guidance Group

Guidance groups at the Primary School are instructional in nature and focus on self-concept development, friendships, good citizenship and our Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, and Citizenship.

Consultation

The Primary School counselor works together with teachers, parents and administration and other school professionals to plan appropriate services for primary school children.

Student Appraisal

The Primary School counselor helps students, parents and teachers by gathering information about student ability, behavior and achievement so appropriate decisions about educational placement and instruction can be made.

We worry what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget
that he is someone today.
