Picture of students in library huddled around an iPadThe purpose of the library is to support the Primary School's curriculum. Each class visits the library once every six school days for library instruction and the opportunity to borrow books. Students also experience additional instruction in topics which are an extension of their classroom curriculum.

Library lessons focus on topics that vary greatly, from book care to building and poetry to programming. Students have opportunities to learn in large groups, as well as participating in individual and small group work at library centers.

All students are permitted to check out one book at a time, but they are welcome to come switch out their book anytime in between scheduled library classes! Overdue reminders are issued to students who forget to return books on time.

The librarian works with the Reading Incentive Committee in an attempt to promote reading. The Committee plans special activities for the students throughout the school year.
